Summer of our Wedding

Welcome to The Lacy's Blog!

As you may have guessed there has been a lot going on this summer for Lauren & I, most importantly, we got married! Planning the event took most of our free time since June, which is why we have been such bad bloggers. We can't wait to share with you the pictures and stories that filled our days! As soon as we get the link to the wedding photos we will post it on the blog. I am also working on a slideshow with our Honeymoon photos. More to come!

Memorial Day!

Lauren was very busy this weekend painting the main bathroom while I stayed busy at work. She primed and painted the purple tile white and the walls Copper Adobe Brown (dark brown with a hint of grey). Her hard work really shows!!
Main Bath Before & During, more to come...

Then Monday we were ready to cut loose from suburbia and hit the open road. We went camping at Lake Wellington, which is just South of Bailey, CO. On our way we stopped by Pine to wish Emily, Lauren's sister, Happy Birthday!
Finally we made our way to the lake with our boat in tow. Upon our arrival to campsite the temprature was about 50F and conditions were extremely overcast Monday evening with light rain. Tuesday was dry but we were socked in with clouds most of the day. So we hung out with some ducks and played horseshoes and enjoyed fishing with The Rettich's & Laurie's gang.

We saw quite a few deer and elk along the way to and from the campground as well as a black fox!

Unforunately we didn't have good boating weather so we didn't get a chance to put our boat out for the first time since last September. But we were blessed with sunshine on our last day, giving way to spectacular views over the lake. Hope you all had a great Memorial Day!

Archived Fox Photos

As we keep exploring our new surroundings we will have many more pics to share! In the mean time we are embracing the weather, the sun, the snow, and the rain, sometimes all in one day.

John has the day off tomorrow and we are expecting snow, maybe he will have to go skiing!

We have now owned our house for 3 months, how exciting it has been! We have been greated by all our neighbors including this fox and her mate. They seem to have a den in the pine tree that stands 75 feet tall in the back corner of our yard. Surprisingly we see them often, but rarely get a photo op! John was at work so I tried to record the event on film for him!

We try to not disturb them but they are definitely not bothered by us. I took these pictures from inside the house standing at the Kitchen window, what a great spring day!

Happy Mother's Day!

Well today is the first day that it is "safe" to plant in our neck of the woods, but they are calling for snow tomorrow?! Gotta love it. We went over to Mike & Millannee's to celebrate the 100th Aniversary of Mother's Day. Mike cooked burgers, brats, & hot dogs for the clan and the rest of the family all brought sides to round out a great spring bbq, horeshoes and all. Here are those pictures I've been meaning to get on the blog for some time. Sorry for the delay! Enjoy;)

Since its been a whole month since I put anything on the blog I thought I'd had enough time off to get something up here! Tonite I will take better photos of the interior of the house and post them for your viewing pleasure.

This week finally feels like spring time. With scattered showers and the smell of freshly cut grass and blooming flowers, Ullr, the snow god, has finally bid us ado until fall. We hope! It has been quite a change for me to move from Texas to Keystone to Arvada. Texas has two seasons; Summer & not quite as hot as Summer. Keystone is almost polar opposite having Winter and not as cold as winter. Now I actually get to experience 4 seperate seasons, fascinating! Of course some may not consider snow on May 1st to be "springlike" but its all relative. Lauren's brother, Brian, and I aerated our lawn along with 10 others on Tuesday. Afterwards I mowed and fertilized. So I hope to see some fantastic results in the coming week with all of the rain we have received this week.

I added another blog link to our website today. One of my old roommates from Keystone is hiking the Appalacian Trail with her boyfriend and so far they have made over 500 miles. This will be quite an accomplishment for anyone but I am especially proud of Kanoa & Leilani (Adam & Lindsey's Island names). They have adopted these surnames for the duration of their excursion. I had no idea but apparently this hike is the equivalent to hiking Mt. Everest 2 1/2 times because of all of the elevation changes! Lots of ups & downs, pun intended.

Ok, so pictures will be up Friday evening.
Have a good day!

My Day Off

Since today is my day off and it the weather is beautiful I decided to do something productive so I trimmed some limbs from our Elm tree away from the power lines going to the house. I also finally got some photos of the house since we moved in. Below are before and after pictures of each room. Unfortunately there was too much light coming into the room when I took the photos so I'll try again soon.
